Quotes!
Haaa... =) Ever since I knew about quotes, I love them already! I mean, they are really wise words, most of 'em, and they are helpful. Some quotes are unique, therefore easy to remember. But of course, there are some wonderful quotes which are a handful to remember as they are just too long. Teesh (yep, I made this word which is between Tee-hee and Sheesh cos the situation is funny yet hard, geddit? Well, if not, I guess I'm living in my own imaginary world.)
Oh k, trying to be funny and haven't been blabbering on with my little thoughts. Perhaps I fail. So back to Quotes, I found many online (especially in my brother's blog which is a thousand times better than mine cos he's more mature in his writing and I ought to learn from his writing style). I think posting some quotes in this blog would be a great addition! Call me weird, haha, but quotes are cool!
Perhaps, if you see your friends arguing with one another, you can tell them a Bible verse, a short story, or even quotes to appease their anger and calm them down. Or in a situation where you and your friends need guidance and motivation, you can use (Christian) quotes too, along with Bible verses. And you can definitely use quotes in your English papers. By the way, there are wonderful Chinese idioms and phrases too! Just how helpful quotes are! =)

STAND!
From a Church Net group lesson I've learnt:
Title: Stand.
God has called each one of us to make a stand for Him, for ourselves and others around us.
So many times we try to stand on our own successes, but God is asking us to stand on Him, His successes, His victories, His promises on our lives.
So,
What have you done in the past 6 months to make a stand for God in your lives?
Do you think you have impacted anyone by doing that?
What can you do differently or do more in the coming months to make a stand for Jesus in your school, work and home?
Well, here are some ways we can make a stand for God in the coming months:
A. Make a Stand in Your Private Life.
- What you do in your private life, when no one is watching, is what will enable you to stand in front of others.
- King David was able to stand against Goliath because he could stand up against the bear and the lion while he was watching his sheep, when no one else was watching him.
So, application-wise,
Are you overcoming your private battles and making a stand in those times?
What are some things in your private life that you need to make a stand against or stand for?
For example:
Standing against cursing and swearing even when you are alone and even in your mind.
Making sure you do your work even when there's no one to push you.
Helping to do household chores even when there's no one to praise you.
Not going to pubs to smoke, drink and etc, arcades when you're supposed to study, and many more like having premarital sex.
B. Pass the Test.
- Our faith and our hearts will be tested and put through the fire.
- God tests our hearts in our private battles, through the situations about us, etc.
- In order to pass the test, we need to be faithful and faith-filled. For instance, being faithful by doing your devotions, going to Church, worshiping, praying, putting God's words into actions. And being faith-filled is having faith in God, His word, promises and what He's going to do in you.
Perhaps God has tested you in something and you have passed it, and are now able to stand for it. It could be a habit, an action, something in your speech, etc. Like stopping to curse, talk back...
Whether it's a small or a big matter to be tested in your life, God cares and has called you to be holy. So whenever you've passed a test, praise and thank God for the strength and guidance His has given you. If you have failed the test, do not ever give up on God and yourself. Seek His forgiveness, His light to be upon you so that you can pass the test and break free and stand against, let's say, bad habits.
C. Know What You Are Standing For.
- Jesus, while on earth, made a stand for God. And He knew what and who He was standing for- YOU and I.
- What are you standing for today?
Perhaps by recalling what your actions were these few days, you will know what you've been standing for.
- Let our everyday life, in every way, be shouting the name of Jesus.
So,
How can we let our lives stand for Jesus?
Think abut our speech, our responses and actions to people and situations around us, what we do, etc. For example, do we add onto the gossips and rumors behind a person's back, or do we change the subject when it comes to our turn to talk? Do we encourage our peers blindly to do certain things which could harm others? Do we allow ourselves to fall into temptation and to sin?
To conclude, let's pray that:
- God will help us to make a stand for His name in our lives. To give us strength, guidance...
- God will help us to put aside the things that stand in our way of making a stand for Him. Such things are like pride, face, temptations...

Even Though
God spoke to me through an sms and I'm really touched and encouraged by His words. Before, I was really scared, worried sick, going through a difficult time as I thought about my future life. I really want to go to a certain school. But I had thoughts like "What if God wants me to go elsewhere like another JC or poly? There are more people in other JCs and poly to reach out to unlike a certain school which is a Christian school. God could want me to reach out to others by placing me in an environment that is so different from my present school which is also a Christian school. He may also want me to become stronger in Him and be a good influence in a school which does not emphasize on Christian values." So I prayed, "Well, dear Lord, I could also be a godly influence in this school, not everyone in this school is a Christian, some Christians could just be Sunday Christians, this school is also the nearest JC, I'll be able to finish my work faster and then I can go to the Edge (Youth service) on Saturday! Even though I don't deserve to get good grades as I don't study that hard and that I am not righteous and sin over and over again for many things, I pray that God will forgive me and be merciful and give me grace as I approach the throne of grace now and allow me to get into this school and study in a good class with my good friends and to be able to take the subjects I want, and that it would also be His will too."
So anyways, the sms said this:
"Trust His ways, even though they may not be your ways.

At an alter call, God told me He loved me very very much. So I just got to trust and have faith in God that no matter what happens, whether I go to my desired school or not, wherever I go, God is always there for me. He wants the best for me no matter how unworthy I am of His love, grace, mercy. He never forsakes me. And I'm sure of that, even though it may not look good to me, God's purpose for me will be done as He wills because He knows what is best for me.
Of course I do still pray that I'll go to that desired school. =) But whatever it is, praise God and thank Him in all situations! GOD BLESS! May you encounter God every day and experience His miracles!
